Most commonly external grade vermiculite fireproofing spray is applied to the pipe rack structure ( eg. in the plant, oil & petrol chemical plant in Jurong Island etc.), steel frame support ( columns & beams) that expose to the weather will have to consider to use higher strength grade that resist higher vibration/ impact, weather resistance and chemical resistance * ( subject to type of chemical).
Our completed project in one of generator set’s machine on the expose steel structure members has been used this material on the first storey level. As the application is on the existing painted column, primer is used for better bonding including the wire mesh for 2 hour fire rated rating as requested by the client. Although the normal application is only used mesh on 4 hour fire rating.
